Dr Chris Peters Biography

Dr. Chris Peters, Professor at the University of Utah, specializes in adult reconstructive orthopaedic surgery of the hip, and knee. He is well known across the country for his ability to do hip preserving operations to save the hip joint and delay the need for hip replacement. One of his specialties includes, the treatment of hip pain in young adults from acetabular dysplasia and/or femoro-acetabular impingement, with pelvic osteotomy, surgical dislocation, and/or anterior osteochondroplasty. Dr. Peters completed his medical education at the University of Southern California and residency at the University of Utah and a fellowship at Rush Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago in total joint replacement. His research interests include patient specific three-dimensional modeling of the hip, a comprehensive approach to the hip, biomechanics of total knee and hip components, the treatment of hip pain in the young adult, and development of hip and knee implants.
